City of Hamilton Awarded High Five Recreation Accreditation
HAMILTON, ON – Thursday, June 16th, 2016 – The City of Hamilton has been awarded the HIGH FIVE® accreditation from Parks and Recreation Ontario.
HIGH FIVE® is a division of Parks and Recreation Ontario (PRO). Over a two-year process, all levels of staff from the city’s Recreation Division worked towards achieving the HIGH FIVE® standard. This standard is committed to assisting children along the path of healthy child development by, ensuring that recreation and sport practitioners develop a high level of knowledge and expertise in child development; helping parents to make informed choices and; providing practitioners with the tools for enhancing and maintaining a high level of program quality. Hamilton is the largest municipality in Ontario to receive the HIGH FIVE® accreditation and be recognized for quality recreation programs and services.
To celebrate this achievement, the City of Hamilton is opening its recreation centres across the city.
