Park Closures - List of Park Construction & Redevelopment Projects

List of current & upcoming park closures

All work is weather dependent

Note: Some areas of the park may be fenced off or restricted by construction access and equipment during weekday daytime hours.

Upper Redhill Park

Starting April 24, 2023
Portion of the park space is closed to accommodate grading and drainage improvements. The majority of the park including the multi use court, sun shelter and play area will be will remain open during this closure.

Pier 4 Park - Tugboat Play Structure

October 2, 2023 to Fall 2025
The tugboat playground is closed to undertake structural assessments to inform the design for improvements to the tugboat, new playground and new spray pad planned for 2025.

Pier 4 Park Winter Washroom

March 4, 2025 until further notice
The Pier 4 Winter Washroom has been vandalized and will remain closed until repairs are completed. There is a portable washroom at nearby Bayfront Park for public use.

Hampton Park

August 18, 2025 to October 25, 2025
Playground and swings area will be closed temporarily for construction to replace the existing play structure and swings. No access to the playground area will be permitted during this time. Other parts of the park including the spray pad, shade shelter and open grass areas are open and accessible.

Palomino Ranch Park – Parking Lot

August 19, 2025 to end of September 2025
The parking lot at Palomino Ranch Park will be closed by Enbridge Gas for routine gas pipeline maintenance.

Alexander Park Field House Playground

September 19 to October 24, 2025
The playground area will be closed to facilitate site servicing construction.

Eleanor Park

Monday, September 22 to Friday, October 17
A portion of the Eleanor Park will be closed and blocked to facilitate storm sewer installation and pathway repaving to improve drainage. All other parts of the park including the playground, baseball diamond , multi-use court and fitness equipment will remain open for use. During this work, some areas of the park may be fenced off or restricted by construction access and equipment during daytime hours, Monday to Friday.

Thorner Park

Friday, September 26 to Friday, November 7
The playground will be closed to facilitate the removal and replacement of the playground, and asphalt pathway from the play area to Deerborn Drive. No access to the playground area with be permitted during this time. All other pathways and grass areas will remain open and accessible during the construction period. During this work, some areas of the park may be temporarily fenced off or restricted by construction access and equipment during daytime hours, Monday to Friday.

Valley Park

Monday, September 29 to Friday, November 14
The Playground will be closed to facilitate removal and replacement of the playground and safety surfacing. All other parts of the park including the community centre, skate parks, walking paths, baseball diamonds, tennis courts etc. will remain open and accessible. During this work, some areas of the park may be fenced off or restricted by construction access and equipment during daytime hours, Monday to Friday.

Corman Park Playground

Monday, October 6 to Friday, November 14, 2025
The playground will be closed to facilitate the removal and replacement of the playground. All other sections of the Park will remain open and accessible during construction including the soccer field, basketball and bocce courts. During this work, some areas of the Park may be temporarily fenced off or restricted by construction access and equipment during daytime hours, Monday to Friday.
