Tickets on sale now for Building Momentum Hamilton 2016
HAMILTON – August 25, 2016 – On September 16, 2016 at 4:30 pm, the general public are invited to attend the third Building Momentum Hamilton 2016 event hosted by the 11 neighbourhoods’ of the Hamilton Neighbourhood Action Strategy (NAS). The event will take place at the McQuesten Urban Farm.
Building Momentum Hamilton 2016 is both a celebration of the NAS neighbourhoods’ successes and a fundraiser for the neighbourhood Small Grants program. Members of the public are invited to purchase tickets to take part in a fun evening filled with activities, food, drink and entertainment.
The NAS is focussed on helping neighbourhoods be great places to live, work, play and learn. The NAS supports community planning teams as they develop and implement action plans that build healthier communities.
“Building Momentum 2016 is a celebration of neighbourhood groups, residents and community partners who came together to develop action plans to build healthier communities, said Mayor Eisenberger. I am proud to be working with businesses, the Provincial and Federal governments and non-profit organizations to align existing resources and find new investments that can support neighbourhoods.”
“The development of the McQuesten Urban Farm and the continued growth on an annual basis is a true testament of the renaissance in Ward 4, East Hamilton where people are now working to move in to the neighbourhood where community matters,” said Councillor Merulla.
Purchase Tickets
Tickets can be purchased online for $60 and include:
- A tour of McQuesten Urban Farm that features information about organic farming and the opportunity to sample locally grown organic produce
- A showcase of Hamilton’s local craft beer and wine makers;
- The sights and sounds of local artists and the neighbourhood’s history and culture;
- Live music from Juno-award winner Tomi Swick
- Hors d’oeuvres and food stations.
