Older Adult programs provide an opportunity to explore new interests in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Programs are led by specialized instructors, developed for individuals 55+ years, and intended for all skill levels.

Virtual Programs are intended for Hamilton residents only, additional fees or restrictions may apply for non residents.

Seniors' Centre without WallsSeniors’ Centre Without Walls provides recreation programs from the comfort of your home. Join us over the phone for free fitness classes, art programs, brain games, and special guest workshops!

Program Basics

  • Programs are multi-person phone conversations (or conference calls).
  • No special equipment needed – any phone will do!
  • All phone programs are free to Hamilton residents 55+.
  • Call yourself in to the program, or we can call you – it’s your choice!
  • You are able to hear each other, talk to one another, learn, and/or just have fun!

Video Programs

Registration for fall programs begins September 15, 2021

Fitness Intro
Introduction to basic fitness skills. Build your cardio, strength and balance while gaining confidence in your fitness abilities.
Monday October 4, 2021 (9 weeks)
9:30 to 10:30 am
Fee: $20.43

Chair Fit
Using a chair as equipment to gain maximum workout with low impact. Breathing practices, core, upper & lower body strengthening, cardio, balance exercises.
Tuesday October 5, 2021 (9 weeks)

Stability, Strength and Tone
Full body workout using balance and challenging all muscle groups. Strengthen muscles, bones and joint function by using equipment and/or body weight.
Wednesday October 6, 2021 (9 weeks)

Tai Chi Fundamentals
Focus on balance and flexibility by completing gentle arm and heel to toe movements. Breathing technique and mindfulness will be practiced through controlled movement which will aid in gradual muscle development and endurance progression. Please note that no particular style or number of movements/sets is practiced.

Cardio Dance
Dance based group fitness. Continuous dance routine to motivating music. Range of intensity movements offered.
