Open Street Events
Open Streets @ King Street East
Date: Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 10 am to 4 pm | Attendance: 20,000
Autumn came to King Street East and it did not disappoint. A perfect fall Sunday brought thousands of Hamiltonians back to a car-free King Street for the second Open Streets of 2026, alongside golden leaves, crisp air, and a street full of life.
Live music echoed from John to Gage, the Kitchen Collective kept the food court buzzing, Hamilton Pro Wrestling brought the drama, Drop Spot Vintage and Soul Co.’s run club took on the length of the event with hundreds of runners, Village Pride at Ferguson Station kicked off Halloween, and so many more community partners across all five hubs made sure there was something for everyone. A huge thank you to TD Canada Trust for presenting the event, our sponsor Alectra, and to every business, partner, volunteer, and City staff member who showed up, plus every Hamiltonian who came out to remind us why streets are for people. See you in 2027.

Summer arrived on King Street East in a big way. June 7 brought one of the most beautiful days of the year and the largest Open Streets crowd yet – 20,000 Hamiltonians out to walk, roll, cycle, and take back the street together.
The route came alive with wrestling shows, drag performances, mini markets, pickleball courts, and live music. The Soul Street Run kicked off the morning with 80 runners, setting the tone for a day that never slowed down. More than 100 local businesses and community partners filled the hubs with activities, games, and good energy, making this Open Streets one for the books.
Open Streets: The Fall Edition
Date: Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 10 am to 4pm | Attendance: 15,000
The September event was the most attended Open Streets yet! The autumn vibes were in full swing – and not just with Steel City Swing dancing in the streets. The warm sunshine made for the perfect day to enjoy the streets, with thousands of Hamiltonians lining the streets to walk, cycle and roll through the city.
This time around, Pride at Ferguson Station created a Halloween edition drag show that was perfectly vibrant and spooky. The streets were buzzing between the rock climbing wall, adoptable greyhounds, bike polo, pop-up basketball courts, misting stations to beat the heat, and so much more. Over 100 community partners, businesses and activations continue to join in on creating streets for the people of Hamilton, connecting each other in ways only getting outside can do.
