Annual Transit Accessibility Public Event 2025

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requires transportation service providers to hold at least one public meeting each year. At the HSR, we take advantage of these yearly opportunities to learn from our customers about what is important to them, and to tell our customers how we are improving accessibility across the system, both on Accessible Transportation Services (ATS/ DARTS) and conventional HSR service.

This year’s meeting will include an in-person and virtual option. The meeting will take place on Thursday, October 9 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

• Presentations start at 5:30 pm with questions and answers to follow
• Public can attend in-person or online via livestream. A recording will be available on the City of Hamilton’s YouTube channel
• This event will include live captioning and ASL interpreters.
• Public can submit questions ahead of the event or by picking up a comment card at a Municipal Service Centre.

In-person: Fill out a comment card or survey at any Municipal Service Centre

HSR will continue to collect feedback following the meeting until October 23, 2025.

HSR buses and staff will be on-site to demonstrate and educate riders of all ages and abilities about the how-to’s and did-you-knows of bus riding. This includes how to board and pay with PRESTO, how Operators secure and unsecure Personal Mobility Devices (PMDs), and how to safely travel with the HSR.
