More than 7,300 voters cast ballots during first advance voting weekend
HAMILTON, ON – More than 7,300 voters cast their ballots at 15 advance voting locations across Hamilton on October 3 and 4, taking advantage of opportunities to vote ahead of Election Day on October 26.
An additional 331 voters cast ballots at Ballot-on-Demand locations at Lime Ridge Mall, Redeemer University and McMaster University between September 28 and October 2. Ballots for all advance and Ballot-on-Demand polls will be counted on Election Day, October 26.
In the 2022 municipal election, 35.38 per cent of eligible Hamilton voters cast a ballot. This year, the City is making it easier and more accessible than ever to vote, with advance voting opportunities across all wards, Ballot-on-Demand locations and accessible voting options. Voters can choose the option that works best for them, with multiple opportunities to cast their ballot ahead of Election Day on October 26.
There is still plenty of time to cast your ballot for mayor, city councillors and school board trustees in the 2026 municipal election. Advance polls will take place in all wards on October 10, 11, 17 and 18. Hamilton City Hall will host a Ballot-on-Demand poll for voters of all wards on October 13-16 and 19-23. Election Day is October 26.

Accessible voting
All advance voting and Election Day voting locations are fully accessible and include features such as barrier-free parking and accessible doors, ramps and thresholds. Voting locations also feature main-level or chair-lift access, large-print and prominent signage and accessible voting machines. Election staff have been trained to support voters who are visually impaired and voters who require support persons or support animals.
