Study Commencement for Airport Employment Growth District EW Arterial Road Network EA

This study is intended to:

• Widen the existing Book Road East (Highway 6 to Smith Road);
• Extend Dickenson Road West from Glancaster Road to Smith Road;
• Provide a new arterial road from Southcote Road and Book Road to Glancaster Road; and,
• Implement a cul-de-sac on the eastern portion of Book Road East.

These improvements are necessary to meet the transportation needs that were identified from a completed study called the Airport Employment Growth District Transportation Master Plan (AEGD TMP) 2011, 2016, and 2024.

The Process

The approved Airport Employment Growth District Transportation Master Plan (AEGD TMP) fulfilled Phase 1 of the MCEA process. This next phase of the study is following the Phase 2 to 4 requirements for the Schedule ‘C’ projects under the MCEA document (October 2000, last amended in 2023).
