Due to construction on University Avenue, 1A King and 5A Delaware buses will be detouring from 7 am on Tuesday, April 29, until approximately 6 am on Thursday, May 1, 2025.

Detour Details:

Route 1A - King & 5A Delaware

Westbound

• From Sterling Street and Forsyth Avenue - Left on Forsyth Avenue, continue on University Avenue and resume regular routing on Emerson Street south of Main Street.

Eastbound

• From University Avenue and Forsyth Avenue - Continue east on Forsyth Avenue, Right on Sterling Street and continue regular routing on Sterling Street, east of Forsyth Avenue.

Routes 2 Barton, 3 Cannon, 4 Bayfront and 20 A Line will be on detour on the second Friday of each month from 5 pm to 11 pm. This is due to a road closure on James Street; York Boulevard/Wilson Street to Murray Street for Art Crawl. Detour details, including a list of closed stops, temporary stops, and a detour map, can be found below.

Detour Details:

Route 2 Barton - Westbound

• Buses will detour from Barton at John, turning left on John Street, right on Rebecca Street, and left on James Street to resume the regular route south of Rebecca.

Route 3 Cannon - Westbound

• Buses will detour from Cannon at John, turning left on John Street, right on Rebecca Street, and left on James Street to resume the regular route south of Rebecca.

Route 4 Bayfront

• Eastbound buses will continue north on MacNab Street from Murray Street, then turn right on Strachan Street and left on James Street to resume the regular route north of Strachan.
• Westbound buses will detour from James at Strachan, turning left on Strachan Street, right on John Street, right on Rebecca Street, and left on James Street to resume the regular route south of Rebecca.

Route 20 A-Line

• Northbound buses will detour from James at Main, turning right on Main Street, left on John Street, left on Strachan Street, and right on James Street to resume the regular route north of Strachan.
• Southbound buses will detour from James at Strachan, turning left on Strachan Street, right on John Street, right on Rebecca Street, and left on James Street to resume the regular route south of Rebecca.

There will be a road closure on Wilson Street from Wentworth Street to Sanford Avenue for construction. Detour effective Monday, March 17 at 9 am until approximately 6 pm on Friday, June 27.

EASTBOUND (to Reid & Dunsmure)

• From Wilson Street and Wentworth Street
• Right on Wentworth Street
• Left on Main Street
• Left on Sanford Avenue
• Right on Wilson Street
• resume regular eastbound routing on Wilson Street east of Sanford Avenue

WESTBOUND (to Downtown)

• No detour

There will be a road closure on Hunter Street – James Street to MacNab Street for sewer valve replacement from Tuesday, April 22 at approx. 11 p.m. – Wednesday, April 23 at approx. 7 p.m. As a result, Routes 4 Bayfront, 7 Locke, 8 York and 34 Upper Paradise outbound will be on detour. Detour details, closed stops, temporary stops and a detour map, can be found below.

Detour Details:

Routes 4 Bayfront and 8 York (outbound from downtown):

• From James Street and Hunter Street, buses will continue south on James Street, turn right on Bold Street, then right on Bay Street, and resume regular routing on Bay Street north of Hunter Street.

Routes 7 Locke and 34 Upper Paradise (outbound from downtown):

• From James Street and Hunter Street, buses will continue south on James Street, turn right on Bold Street, then right on Bay Street, followed by a left on Hunter Street. Buses will resume regular routing on Hunter Street west of Bay Street.

Due to construction, University Plaza in Dundas is closed and Route 10 B-Line will be on detour from approximately 6 am on Thursday, April 24, until approximately 6am on Friday, April 25, 2025

Routes 10 B–Line Express

Westbound From Downtown Hamilton

• From Osler Drive and the entrance to University Plaza, continue west/north on Osler Drive, Left on South Street W, Right on Ogilvie Street, Right on Governors Road, Right on
• Osler Drive to Temporary Recovery Point on Osler Drive at University Plaza. 

Eastbound to Downtown Hamilton

• From Temporary Recovery Point on Osler Drive at University Plaza, continue south/east on Osler Drive and resume regular routing.

Due to construction on Garner Road, between Fiddlers Green Road and Panabaker Drive, Route 44 Rymal will be on detour eastbound only from April 9 until approximately June 27, 2025.

WESTBOUND (To Tradewind & Cormorant)

• No detour

EASTBOUND (To Eastgate Square)

From Garner Rd. and Hamilton Dr.:

• Left on Hamilton Dr.
• Left on Wilson St.
• Right on Amberley Blvd.
• Right on Fiddlers Green Rd.
• Left on Book Rd.
• Left on Glancaster Rd.
• Right on Garner Rd.
• Resume regular eastbound routing.
• Stop Closures - Route 44 Rymal (Eastbound Only)
  All stops between Hamilton Dr. and Glancaster Rd. will be out of service during the detour.
• An afternoon shuttle service at Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School has been added during the construction period to ensure continued service for students and passengers in the area. This route is subject to change during construction.
