Bus News Winter 2026
Starting Sunday, December 28, 2025, we’re making small schedule changes on several routes to make sure you get where you need to go, on time. These changes will make a real difference for communities across Hamilton.

Bus Stop Changes
Effective Sunday, December 28, these bus stop changes will be in effect. Watch for signs posted at the affected stops.
Route 4 Bayfront
Route now travels York St. to James St. N instead of traveling down Murray St. to head Northbound.
Route 8 York
Changes to the stops along York St.
Route 44 Rymal
The 44 Rymal we be using Platform 5 at the Confederation GO station.
Stoney Creek Industrial
This is an a.m. / p.m. service to support the Stoney Creek Industrial area.

Route 3 - Cannon
- Eastbound - From Wilson St and Victoria Avenue, Left on Victoria Avenue, Right on Barton Street, Right on Birch Avenue, Left on Wilson Street and resume regular eastbound routing on Wilson Street east of Birch Avenue.
- Westbound - No Detour
Out of Service Stops: Wilson at Victoria | Wilson at Emerald | Wilson at Steven
Temporary Stop: Wilson at Victoria
On Friday, December 26, 2025, Route 4 - Bayfront and 6 - Aberdeen will be on detour from 12 pm until 2:30 pm due to the Boxing Day Runs event.
Detour details, including a list of out of service stops, temporary stops, and detour maps, can be found below.
Detour Details
Route 4 Bayfront (Eastbound only) – Buses will detour as follows:
- From MacNab Street and Murray Street, the bus will proceed north on MacNab Street
- turning right on Strachan Street
- left on James Street and resume regular routing.
Route 6 Aberdeen – Buses will detour as follows:
- Eastbound: From Macklin Street north of King Street (the MACKLIN at GLEN bus stop), the bus will turn right on King Street and resume regular routing.
- Westbound: From Longwood Road at Glen Road, the bus will turn right on Glen Road, and turn right on Macklin Street north of King Street (the MACKLIN at GLEN bus stop).

The following stops will be out of service:
Route 4 Bayfront – Eastbound
- JAMES opposite WEST HARBOUR GO STATION
Route 6 Aberdeen – Eastbound
- PRINCESS POINT LOOP
- MACKLIN at KAY DRAGE PARK
- At 100 MACKLIN
- MACKLIN at CORONATION ARENA
Route 6 Aberdeen – Westbound
- LONGWOOD at EDGEVALE
- LONGWOOD at NORWOOD
- LONGWOOD at FRANKLIN
- PRINCESS POINT LOOP
Temporary stops have been placed at the following locations:
Route 4 Bayfront – Eastbound
- MACNAB at STRACHAN
Route 6 Aberdeen – Eastbound and Westbound
- MACKLIN at GLEN
Route 18 Waterdown Mountaineer will detour as it travels to and from the Flamborough South Centre, August 31 until further notice.
Northbound to Flamborough South Centre: When travelling to Walmart, the bus will continue on Clappison Avenue, turning right on Dundas Street East, left on Leavitt Boulevard, left into Flamborough South Centre, right on the first internal road, proceed around Staples, and stop at stop #1879 at Walmart.
Southbound to Aldershot GO: From stop #1879 at Walmart, the bus will turn left at from the stop, right on the first internal road, left on the next internal road, right on Leavitt Boulevard, right on Dundas Street East, and left on Clappison Avenue where it will continue regular route.
Transit staff and property manager are working on an access agreement to allow HSR bus travel through the lot.
