Bus News Summer 2026
Summer service starts on June 28, running up to and including September 5. Changes include a return to summer weekday service frequency on several routes. Service frequency means that buses will arrive at your stop at a fixed time interval, such as every 20 minutes or every 30 minutes.

Bus Stop Changes
A few stops will be will be closed this summer, but service will be provided at new stop locations or at alternative stops close by. Several stops will also be renamed.

Travels east-west, from the Hamilton GO Centre to the West Hamilton Loop.
Travels north - south from Orchard/ Pleasant to York/ Watson's Lane Loop.
Travels east - west from Eastgate Terminal Platform #2 to Jones and HWY #8. Route 55A eastbound buses service the Levi Loop and start out at Eastgate Platform #2. On weekdays some trips on this route are interlined with Route 10 - B Line Express. On Sundays, some trips on this route are interlined with Route 58 - Stoney Creek Local. Stoney Creek Trans-Cab Service operates Weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays as an extension of Routes 55 and 55A when in service.
Travels travels north - south from Eastgate Terminal Platform #3 to Lakeland Community Centre.
Service the lower bowl of Bayfront Park, operating northbound on Bay Street North and southbound on James Street North, providing customers with direct service from downtown Hamilton into the park. Ride for FREE to visit Hamilton’s waterfront attractions like Bayfront Park and Hamilton Harbour. All Waterfront Shuttle trips are wheelchair accessible.
HSR is offering a free shuttle service to Bayfront Park for Canada Day celebrations. The shuttle will operate as follows:
Pre-Fireworks to Bayfront Park - From the Route 99 bus stop at King Street at Summers Lane, buses will:
- continue on King Street
- right on Bay Street
- left on Harbour Front Drive into Bayfront Park
Pre-Fireworks to King Street at Summers Lane from Pier 8, buses will:
- continue on Harbour Front Drive
- continue east on Strachan Street
- right on James Street
- right on King Street
Post-Fireworks to Bayfront Park - From the Route 99 bus stop at King Street at Summers Lane, buses will:
- continue on King Street
- right on Bay Street
- left on Harbour Front Drive into Bayfront Park
Post-Fireworks to King Street at Summers Lane - Exiting Bayfront Park via roundabout, buses will:
- continue onto Harbour Front Drive
- continue east on Strachan Street
- right on John Street
- right on King Street

The destination sign will read “ST. CREEK INDUSTRIAL”.
Customers no longer need to let operators know their stop prior to requesting stop. Customers can just pull the stop request chord or the stop button to request a stop.
There are over 60 new recognized stops along this route, customers do not need to flag down the bus if they are at a recognized stop.
