Bus News Summer 2026
Summer service starts on June 28, running up to and including September 5. Changes include a return to summer weekday service frequency on several routes. Service frequency means that buses will arrive at your stop at a fixed time interval, such as every 20 minutes or every 30 minutes.

Bus Stop Changes
A few stops will be will be closed this summer, but service will be provided at new stop locations or at alternative stops close by. Several stops will also be renamed.

Services lower Hamilton east - west from Hamilton GO in the west to Eastgate Square in the east. The KING 1A route also services West Hamilton Loop to Hamilton GO on weekdays only.
An east - west route that stretches from downtown Hamilton in the west to Stoney Creek in the east. Stoney Creek Trans-Cab Service operates Weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays as an extension of Route 2 when in service.

Routes 2 Barton, 3 Cannon, 4 Bayfront and 20 A Line will be on detour on the second Friday of each month from 5 pm to 11 pm. This is due to a road closure on James Street; York Boulevard/Wilson Street to Murray Street for Art Crawl.
Route 2 Barton - Westbound
- Buses will detour from Barton at John, turning left on John Street, right on Rebecca Street, and left on James Street to resume the regular route south of Rebecca.
Route 3 Cannon - Westbound
- Buses will detour from Cannon at John, turning left on John Street, right on Rebecca Street, and left on James Street to resume the regular route south of Rebecca.
Route 4 Bayfront
- Eastbound buses will continue north on MacNab Street from Murray Street, then turn right on Strachan Street and left on James Street to resume the regular route north of Strachan.
- Westbound buses will detour from James at Strachan, turning left on Strachan Street, right on John Street, right on Rebecca Street, and left on James Street to resume the regular route south of Rebecca.
Route 20 A-Line
- Northbound buses will detour from James at Main, turning right on Main Street, left on John Street, left on Strachan Street, and right on James Street to resume the regular route north of Strachan.
- Southbound buses will detour from James at Strachan, turning left on Strachan Street, right on John Street, right on Rebecca Street, and left on James Street to resume the regular route south of Rebecca.

Eastbound - From Wilson Street and Wentworth Street, Right on Wentworth Street, Left on Main Street, Left on Sherman Avenue, Right on Cannon Street and resume regular eastbound routing on Cannon Street east of Sherman Avenue.
Westbound - No Detour
An east-west route that travels from downtown Hamilton in the west to just past Parkdale Ave. in the east.
Westbound to Downtown – From Cannon and Gage, buses will turn right on Gage, left on Barton, left on Birch, right on Cannon, resume regular route
Eastbound to Reid and Dunsmure – From Wilson and Wentworth, buses will turn right on Wentworth, left on Main, left on Gage, right on Cannon, resume regular route
