A Day to Honour One of Our Own - Lincoln Alexander
HAMILTON, ON - January 18, 2017 - The Lincoln Alexander Day Planning Committee and the Committee Against Racism cordially invite you to attend the Lincoln Alexander Day Celebration on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at the Lincoln Alexander Centre at 160 King Street East, Hamilton.
Join us in commemorating the late Honourable Lincoln MacCauley Alexander, celebrating his accomplishments and lifelong and tireless work toward his commitment to social justice, racial equity and the legacy that carries on.
There will be performances by local artists including:
- Erika Alexander - granddaughter
- Bernadette John-Ling
- Dejehan Hamilton “LuckyStickz” - Steel Pannist
- South Asian Heritage Association dancers, Sumedha Ray and Archi Doshi
- Jovaune Rhodes
Family members of the Late Honourable Lincoln Alexander, local dignitaries and community leaders will also be in attendance.
Councillor Matthew Green will be attending the event.
